Proton therapy? Question

I’m 70 years old, diagnosed with prostate cancer when I was 61, and I had and I had Proton Therapy on my prostate with a Gleason score 8
I have had severe pain in urination ever since and can’t get relief , from medication or stimulators .I pee 6-8 a night sometimes 10 my sleep is minimum and has been for 4 years and no doctor, has been able to help and I haven’t really found one who wants to investigate my case. My oncologist who performed the surgery, has just turned his back on me. I’m just left out here to find fin for myself , I’m looking for someone, that might point me to a doctor that , would take a look at my case ……….? If any one could help, I would greatly appreciate it.
Ref. To prosate help. Thanks 🙏

  1. Hi . Your frustration is certainly understandable. Has anyone mentioned radiation cystitis to you? This article from our editorial team offers more information: https://prostatecancer.net/symptoms/urinary. Proton therapy is actually supposed to reduce the risk of this compared to other radiation therapies, but it is still possible. You mentioned surgery. Did you also have a prostatectomy or are you referring to procedure of the radiation treatments? I ask because a prostatectomy can also have urinary issues. Concerning treatment, do you live near a major university hospital? The thought was that they may have the expertise and resources to help. Also, there are the recognized comprehensive cancer centers. This site lists them by state: https://www.cancer.gov/research/infrastructure/cancer-centers/find. Hopefully others will chime in with their thoughts. You deserve to have medical professionals take your situation seriously. Best, Richard (Team Member)
