man i really get down and have this knot in my gut .. i dont know

  1. Hi . The anxiety is certainly understandable. One of our community members wrote here about the anxiety of the the first year of diagnosis: https://prostatecancer.net/living/overcoming-anxiety-stress. Also, I wrote you under a different post just a little bit ago with some information for the newly diagnosed. One of the main things I will note is that many men find that moving forward and developing a plan can help with feeling less out of control. Best, Richard (Team Member)

    1. thank you for writing, Well I went to the doctor today and he put me on ORGOVYX and two months of radiation, I was thinking it had spread and all kinds of neg. stuff, well when he told me it hasnt spread and no surgery, I was so reliefed, I havent listen to music scent I found out, well today on the way home from the doctor, I listen to music and I was kinda like my old self...... how are you doing ?

    2. Hi . Given that the cancer had not spread, which is great news, you have a number of treatment options available. Did the doctor discuss options? Would radiation have been your first choice? I also want to note that there are different kinds of radiation therapy that you would be eligible for. This article from our editorial team gives an overview of types of treatment, with links to additional information: https://prostatecancer.net/treatment. I just want to make sure you are aware of the options available to you and that you have a chance to ask about the side effects and to choose the best option for you. Hope this information is helpful. Best, Richard (Team Member)

  2. sense not scent LOL

  3. I'm feeling the downs also. I chose RP 2years ago, exactly 24 months since surgery. RP includes Seminal vessicles, pelvic lymph nodes, bladder neck and wall biopsies. There was 1 small lymph node (out of 15) positive for the cancer. Was undetectable for 18months now slow rise in PSA. They said "chemical biological recurrence of advanced prostate cancer. PSMA ordered, consults with radiation oncologist, medical/chemo oncologist. So I'm starting all over again. I've had increasing fatigue for several months and the first side effects listed in basically all the treatments is fatigue. Bad time, we wanted to move to be closer to grandchildren, but I trust and am familiar with the docs and the very good cancer center whrre I live now. Trying to pack a house we've lived in 30 years is a PITA, we've delayed the move a little but the movers still want a date. I'm pooped now so I'll wish all a good day and I'll follow up after the consults.

    1. Hi . It is understandable that facing a PCa recurrence would have you down. It does sound like you are taking the right steps with the PSMA. Fatigue is certainly an issue, although hopefully treating the cancer will lesson that aspect of the fatigue and treatment won't be a simply adding on (when the time comes, our contributors have written a number of articles on dealing with treatment related fatigue). Having confidence in your medical team is also a great thing as you move forward. Hopefully, as the move is delayed a little, you and your family will get to enjoy the holiday.
